RULES & REGULATIONS AND SHOW SCHEDULE

1. The Exhibitor must have grown the delphinium specimens.

2. Not more than one exhibit per class per person.

3. Spikes should be exhibited without laterals, as there is a class for laterals.

4. The judge's decision shall be final.

Specimen Spikes for Exhibition -

These should be long, tapering or columnar in shape with at least two thirds of florets open and staged with a minimum of 4 inches (100 mm) of stem visible below the bottom florets.

Spikes exhibited should be displayed with no laterals attached.

Florets should be of good substance and colour whether self, contrasting colour or striped, showing even placement. Well furnished florets of circular outline with neat and even eye petals are preferred.

Presentation is important, with staging carried out to present an upright spike with clean foliage inserted to conceal mechanics.

Spikes that are under developed, crooked or malformed should be disregarded or severely penalised, as should those with conspicuous seedpods in the floret.

Penalty should apply where spikes appear sparse, irregular or over crowded with florets.
